Dies to Die For

Wow, I just looked at the time and it's late. Should get to bed soon. But just wanted to show you a confirmation card I made for a friend of my Grandmothers (she has so many friends I cannot keep up, hehe). This one I made with a sketch from Dies to Die For. Dies to Die For is a sponsor of the first ProMarkers challenge so make sure you check them out!!

I flipped the sketch and this is how it turned out:

For this card I have used Bazzill CS, Pretty Please DP, pink swirls from Prima, flowers from IKEA and stash, the big once are colored with rose pink ProMarker, ribbon from stash also colored with PM, stamp from Hänglar and sentiment from North Star Stamps. Image is colored with ProMarkers: Blush, Dusky Pink, Ivory, Sandstone, Cool Grey 3, Apricot and Mustard

Cathy is celebrating her 40th birthday with a candy, check out her blog as she makes gorgeous cards! :)

2S4Y - Kazan's Sketch 27

I have been so busy with the launch of the Passion for ProMarkers blog and my normal life that I haven't had time to make any cards. But tonight I did manage so squeeze in some time to make a card with Kazan's lovely sketch! I just love the sketches that Kazan & Laura make, they are very inspiring and I notice I make cards in a different style then I usually do when I enter 2S4Y. I think it must be all the circles and great DT cards :p

Also at Simon Says this weeks challenge is ANIMALS, so I'll join that one to. And at Charisma Cardz the theme is dots so hopefully my circle and scalloped image will qualify! :)

3 challenges into one, wow that's not like me, but any ways here's my take on Kazan's sketch:

For this card I used bazzill bright light blue and kraft, 3ndypapir DP, a digi stamp from Dustin Pike (my first time ever using a digi stamp, woo hoo), letters are from ADORNit and the ribbon is from stash but colored with Cola Aqua ProMarker. The image is colored with ProMarkers (Vanilla, Dusky Pink, Cool Grey 1, Sandstone, Cinnamon and Cool Aqua)

Make sure you join my blog candy, the candy will grown with the amount of people joining in :)

Its Monday again and that means time for a new challenge at the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog. This weeks its Erin who set the challenge, in honor of her little girls birthday her challenge is to make a card with 2 colors, 2 shapes and 2 ribbons (and if you want to add any more embellishments that is perfectly okay) So for my card I have used: A rectangular shape, an oval shape, two ribbons (I colored the big one to match my card), 2 flowers on the front with 2 brads, 2 purple papers, 2 light turquise papers, 2 oval papers. I think I managed to get in some extra 2's there! :) I have colored my hänglar image with ProMarkers, I also used the ProMarker pens to color my ribbon. I hope you like it and will join us at CCC for this creative challenge!

Here's my card:

Skissedilla #9

Once upon a time I had a plan.. to make a album with all the lovely photo's I had, but then the card making bug bit me and my 12x12 album is dusting away with 4 LO's in it, and 2 of them I made at a class. Hehe. But then I signed up for a PRIMA class at Bikuben to boost the scrapper in me (cause I think there is one in everybody, and a card maker off course), but then my grandmother passed away and I totally forgot about it. But I couldnt let that stop me anymore, so I made this LO of me and my friend Cecilie. The pictures are taken on her birthday party in March. We always take our picture in the toilet mirror. Goofey but thats a us! :) The products are from PRIMA, the thickers from American Crafts and the brown letters I have nada clue where came from. The background for the small photo's is the packing that the siver stars came in, and the victorian paper in the back I made with a Prima stamp.

My first contribution to Skissedilla turned out like this:

Be kind to if you comment, this is only my 5th LO ever ever ever!! :p

Join me again tomorrow for my design team card for Cupcake Craft Challenge! And remember to join my candy!!

Motivet Candy

Motivet is generously giving away 7 new stamps to one lucky winner! (I'm crossing my fingers its me!!) I have always thought that their stamps are gorgeous but I'm not very good at buying stamps unfortunately. And not even are they just giving away these 7 gorgeous stamps, but when you comment you also qualify for a monthly draw of 5 stamps of your choice!! So lets hope its my lucky month! The candy ends of May 31st so hurry on over to their blog. Make sure you snoop around and check out the design team ladies creations (menu bar on the right side)

Cheap ProMarkers

For all you Norwegians I just ordered some ProMarkers from Papir-Hobby and they were cheap compared to many other stores. They sell them for 29kr per marker all year around!! How great is that. I also got some cheap tiny alphabet sets for 10 kr a piece! So I spent the last scraps of cash on my VISA card before payday again on Monday! :p

And you will need them cheap markers when you join us at the Passion for ProMarkers blog from Tuesday on. Make sure you mark your calender for this upcoming Tuesday, the 26th. Because that is the BIG day when we lanch our first challenge. And let me tell you it is going to be BIG!!!! ;)

20 mai 2009

I'm trying..

.. to fix my blog. With the long DT lists I want to add another colomn, but with my layout it harder then it first seemed. And I don't want to get rid of this sweet light purple layout either. SO if my blog looks a wee bit funny during the next hours it me trying to me a smart ass :)

Oh, Joachim arrived safely in Austria. So if you know any craft shops near Wörthersee let me know, so I can have him pick me up a gift! ;p

2S4Y Laura's Sketch 26

How much more simple can it be? I am on a C&S roll today I think.. Hehe.
Laura has made a great sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You, and I think I will do more cards with the sketch.
I've also decided to use scraps for the thank you cards I'm making for my grandmothers funeral. We received so much flowers so we have a lot of people to thank. She loved colors so having them in different colors will just be a nice thing :)

I just love the Spellbinders nestabilities. I got label two & three in the mail yesterday from my cousin Louise, thank you so much sweetie! :)

And lets not forget the Card Showdown going on in 12 days over at 2 Sketches 4 You!!

Card without INK...

Today I was going to make a birthday card and I was thinking I should try to make a card without any stamps. So after some thinking this is what I came up with:

The "gratulerer" text is a rub on from Norsk Stempleblad. Papers from Bazzill, Ribbon from Søstrene Grene and Bling from Kaiser Craft. And I embossed the front paper with my Cuttlebug embosser folder -Swirls

Make sure you vist Stampin' for the Weekend and the Passion for ProMarkers blog's and get on the followers list to stay updated on what is going on. On the Stampin' blog there is a candy with some goodies and on the ProMarkers blog there is a candy where you can win markers (it closes to day so hurry up)

I'm home sick (again) today and got a sick leave out this week. But made me feel a whole lot bette to make a card so I think I'll get started on some thank you cards I have to make to :) Have a great evning!

May 2009

Like I said this morning I would show you some photo's from yesterdays great celebration. But since Joachim has left for Austria today I only have two, but I actually took one of them, so very happy about that! :) Whenever we bring the camera to Camilla's house we end up with 300+ pictures. Hehe. We love taking pictures of the kids :) And my nephew Martin looks so cute in his national suit. His father Lars also has a male one that looks just stunning! I want Joachim to get one, but they are very expensive so it wont be this year.

Look at my cute little boy in high speed on the little bicycle.
(well, he is not mine but Joachim's sisters, hehe)

Martin and his father Lars

Tomorrow I'm on a strike and have the day off, but got an physiotherapy appointment at 08:40 so not a fat chance for sleeping in. I guess I'll rest when I retire :) But I'm looking forward to some crafting peace and quite now that Joachim is gone ;p

Have a great evening everyone!

Cupcake Craft Challenge 40 - Sketch

It's Monday again and time for another challenge from the Cupcake Craft Team, this week's challenge is a gorgeous sketch made by the talented Donna. Yesterday was also Donna's birthday so if you did not get to congratulate her yesterday, make your way to her blog and pamper her with messages and hugs! :) Since I felt last weeks card was not that great I wanted to make another male/boy card. I went threw my old papers and found some of Mom's actually (I need to get her some new once since I keep using her papers, wops) and colored (with my ProMarkers) a matching Magnolia(Edwin with cap) stamp!

Make sure you visit the other design team girls to see their gorgeous cards and creations for inspiration to this weeks challenge!

Here's the sketch:

Angd here's how my card turned out:
(click on th picture for a larger view)

I also want to enter this card for the Simon Says challenge, where they have a make something for the boys challenge. I really like Simon Says and love that they also have made their own challenge blog :)

I hope you all had a great weekend, for Norway it was AWESOME! Joachim & I went to his sisters for a BBQ after the parade and had a great time. We played with the kids (that's what aunt's & uncle's are for right?) and eat all day long! Stayed much longer then we intended to, so Joachim's packing was left until late midnight. But he managed to get his stuff together. Its going to be so quite here the next week when he is in Austria. Gives me more time for blogging! :)

Shorty 'n Friends Card

Shorty 'n Friends had a ticket draw where they wanted to see cards made with their stamps so I entered this card, but I see now that I should have entered more, since I was the only one out of 4 that only made one card, hehe. But oh what the heck. :)

Here's the card:

I love this purple paper, but its from my Mom's stash so if anyone know who it is from, please drop me a comment!! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! :)

Another confirmation card

Today I made another confirmation card. I have tried to stare away from the vintage style, but when I made the thorn edges and distressing yesterday it gave me a taste of earth, so today's card is a bit vintage. The pretty paper is from Melissa Frances, the stamp is from the Norwegian company Stempelglede (Maribell), the butterfly brads are from Livi & Sille, the gorgeous ribbion is from Ask Antikk & Interiør, Edges are stamped with the Grunge Collection set also from Stempelglede, distressed with Marvy Dark Brown, flowers are from prima and tag from Panduro Hobby and I used my Martha Stewart border punch to do the borders! I just love this punch!!

This is my first vintage card, so be kind with the comments ;) Hihi. Here's how it turned out:

The picture got very small when I uploaded it, but I'm to tired to fix it right now. I can sleep in half an hour tomorrow as I don't start until 09:00, but that means I have to stay later on a friday and that's no fun. Hopefully all the kids will get picked up early so that I can go home! ;)

On Sunday its the Norwegian national day, so to all the Norwegians reading my blog, Hipp hipp hurra for 17 mai! :) Enjoy the weekend and celebrate with joy! :)

Good night, see you all in blogland tomorrow :)

Confirmation Card

My cousin Line Maria is having her confirmation at the end of the month and today my Aunt Mette asked me if I could make a card for her. How could I say no when she is so kind and lets me borrow her gorgeous stamps!! (with 2 kids, hubby and a new house she's got her hands full) Since I'll be making at least three of the cards for the confirmation I wanted to make them all different. So for this card I decided to give envelop cards a go. I had to read the instructions well before I figured out that I it upside down, LOL. I haven't made the inside yet, cause I want to make a printed page with a message for her, so I'll wait until Mette has one ready that I can just add a nice font to and print!

So here's how it turned out:

Now I'm off to bed, I have stayed up WAY to late! Come back tomorrow and see my other confirmation card! :) Good night everyone!!

Charisma Cardz Challenge 18 - Sketch & Awards

Here's a card I made today with a sketch from Charisma Cardz. This is for my Aunt, she wanted me to make her three cards for her. So one is done and two to go! For this card I have used Bazzil & Chatterbox, Gorjuss girl stamp, Congratulations stamp from stash which is embossed with white, QK swirls, Cuttlebug Polka embosser folder, Glitter glue, flowers from IKEA and stash and the Gorjuss girl is colored with ProMarkers.

I also want to enter it to the Creative Inspiration Challenge where the challenge is embossing, and I have one polka embossed panel on this card :)

Here's how it turned out:

And I was so lucky to get three awards from Vicki that I want to share with you.

I want to pass them on to everyone who was so wonderful and left me comforting comment when my grandmother passed away. Thank you all!

Denise, Sam, Karine, Kjerstin, Carol Ann, Desiree, Helen Laurence and Lorriane.

Yellow lights

Yesterday Joachim went to his friend Marius to fit some yellow protective film to the headlights on the Golf. I love how this turned out and I wanted to show it off to all of you! :) Visit Joachim's blog to see more pictures taken by him. Click on the picture to get a larger size displayed.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 39 - Card for a man/boy

This weeks challenge is to make a card for a male/boy. And o'boy that was hard. I twisted my head and figured I'd peek it as simple as I could which made it even harder. Hehe. But there is a birthday man coming up and he is not a fan of all the decorations so it will come to good use! :)

For the card I used a Hänglar stamp, Bazzil & Kaiser Craft papers, sentiment rub-on and stamp from Norsk Stempelblad, flower from a local shop and a old ribbion from stash.

Challenge your self and join us in this weeks challenge at the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog.

Not feeling to well today, so I didn't go into work today. Been feeling strange during the weekend, so I'll try to get some sleep and get back to normal today hopfully! But for all you others, have a GREAT day! :)

Tablecards & Nameparty cards

With all that has been going on the last two weeks things have been hectic for me and making the table cards for the name party has fell down on my list. But today I got to finish them (last minuet since the party is tomorrow, hi hi) And thats not all, I also took on to make a card from Joachim's grandmother. Its a good thing Joachim and Scott (my cousin's husband) were away to visit a Norwegian fire station so that the ladies could stay at home. Joanne (one of my cousins) helped me out with both embellishing the flowers and gluing them on.

I have used the scraps from the invitations to make them!
Here's how they turned out:

I am really tired so I tried to keep the other cards clean and simple in the style and I love the purple color on them! So lets hope Camilla (Joachim's sister) will like them to!
Here's how they turned out:

Good night to you all, my bed is screaming for me! I just have to get the bunad (Norwegian national suit) out so its not so cold to put on tomorrow!!

06 mai 2009

Award

I got an award from Lena Katrine that I wanted to pass on.
Thank you so much Lena, it really made my day!!

I want to pass it on to: Denise, Tammy, Caryn and Gro.

I'm exhausted after the funeral and cant wait for the weekend to come, but no time to relax before on Sunday. On Saturday we are going to Joachim's sisters for a name party for Julie, the event that I made invitations for. So now I have to finish the table cards, make a card from Joachim's grandmother and a card from us. Puh.

I want to thank all of you that have had me in their thoughts during the last week, its so kind of you and I have really appriciated reading your comments. They warm my heart! :)

Have a great evning!

Cupcake Craft Challenge 38 - Numbers

I just realized that I call last weeks challenge for 38 and not 37. Wops. But this week is 38 and the challenge is NUMBERS at the Cupcake Craft Challenge!! Which was a perfect match for me as I have to make a card for my darling cousin Oleane who is turning 3 at the end of the month. Its Claire that has set this challenge and you might want to check out her blog for more of her gorgeous cards!! Her card for last weeks challenge was one of my fave to! :)

I have become a fan of Kraft card stock lately so I have used it on this card to, with some green and orange, I just love the Blow & Grow CS from MME.

So here's how my card turned out:

Hope you like my card! :)

Today is going to be a hectic day. I have to take my cousins to the bank so they can exchange some dollars for kroner. Set up all the table and chairs for all the people that are coming to our house after the funeral tomorrow, clean, bake, iron white table cloths (the most boring part) and run errands here and there. Puh, its going to be a long day. But thankfully my cousins are helping out so Mom & I wont be alone doing it all.

Hope you all have a wonderful day, the sun is shining bright here in Norway!

Gorjuss Clock

When I'm at my Mor, as I like to call her (my fathers mother) I never can tell the time, because she does not have a wall clock anymore so I took the matter in my own hands and made her this simple Gorjuss girl clock. Used the beautiful papers from MME and colored a Gorjuss girl from Set 2 to match and made the numbers with thickers from American Craft.

Here's how it turned out:

Thank you to those of you how have left me comments about my granmother passing away, they are greatly appriciated. Now I'm off to bed, got to get up early and pick up my cousin that are coming for the funeral. It will be nice to see them again, Joanne was here visiting us this summer but Louise I havent seen since I was in Denver 11 years ago.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for all the other wonderful comments about my cards and projects!

Sad news and some good news..

I haven't been blogging much this week due to my grandmother passing away on Monday, making this the saddest week I can remember. I'm over the chock and have come to terms with her death now and making cards gets my mind going. I love how this hobby can be used as therapy. But I still cry my heart out. I had I dream that I went to heaven to ask her to come back to me, but she said no. I couldn't understand why and when I asked her, she said it was because she could smoke in heaven. I had been trying to get her to quit smoking for a while now. I woke up and laughed, that would have been her exact answer if it was in real life. I'm happy for her that she does not need to feel any pain anymore but so sad that she is not here with me anymore. I miss her like crazy!!!

In my therapy I made a card which brings me to my good news, my best friends sister just had a beautiful baby boy! So he is getting this card. His name is Henrik and is just the cutest thing! :)

Here's the card I made to welcome him to the world:

I also made my card for next week's Cupcake Craft Challenge but I cant show you that until Monday. I wont be blogging much next week either as my cousins from the US are coming over for the funeral and I'll be spending the short time they are here with them.
